Television and autism
Television and in general screens provoke autism. That is the result of an investigation done by two pediatricians in France. Many children watch some screen for 6-12 hours a day from a very early age on. This is the reason that the brain cannot develop well; children have to manipulate objects, feel them in their hands, put them in their mouths, let them drop and pick them up again. It is also necessary to have proper conversations with other people in order to start to speak. Only in that way a language obtains sense. When the mother says: "Let's put on your coat," and this is what she does, then this sentence gets meaning. The conversations on television though don't address the child, it doesn't concern him.
Children that pass many hours a day in front of a screen, often show autistic behaviour:
They don't react to their name, they are not interested in their environment, they don't obtain speech, they don' t make eye contact, they often behave agrressively, they get a temper tantrum when the parent shuts the television.
All these behaviors can change rapidly within a month, as soon as the screens are banned. The parents should do the same, as they function as an example and as they should interact with their children!!
