Communication avoidance

How much easier it is for the autistic child to avoid every communication! 

Konstantinos wanted to play with cars. That is to say: he took them one or two at the time in his hands to examine them. In this I found the opportunity to exercise eye contact and communication. Therefore I put the cars in a line for him to see them well, and told him to tell me which color he wanted me to give him, every time he wanted to take another one. Because I love to give them to him!! They are all for him! While he speaks well enough and it is not difficult for him at all to tell me the color of the car, he prefered to make a move with his foot to get a car, swiftly and sneaky, just to avoid my procedure! But more often I anticipated this and then he could exercise in eye contact, because I put the selected car in between my eyes.
